The Hampshire County Beekeeper's
Association (HCBA) meets on the 3rd Thursday each month at the Bank of
Romney Community Center Building. The Community Center is located on
Main Street in Romney directly across the street from Sheetz. At this
time, meetings are not planned for the winter months of Nov, Dec, Jan,
Feb. Please contact HCBA officers or members for additional
information as needed.
Generally, meetings are minimally structured as follows:
1) Organizational/Business meeting - discussion of any club matters
2) Information Presentation - either by an invited guest speaker or a club member
3) Discussion about current topics in beekeeping - free form information exchange and discussion.
4) Snacks/Continued discussion
Often members come early to have discussions before the meeting. The meeting begins at 7 PM and runs to about 9 PM. The list above is for individuals that like structure and a plan. But the club may vary the order in any way. It all depends. If the presenter has to leave early, we might start with the formal presentation. Or we might start with snacks. We try to stay flexible.
HCBA primarily draws its membership from 4 WV counties: Hampshire, Hardy, Mineral, and Grant. Our neighbor associations are Tucker County Beekeepers Association on the South/West, the Allegheny Mountain Beekeepers Association to the North, and the Eastern Panhandle Beekeepers Association to the East. Many members do belong to multiple associations within reasonable driving distance. For example, we have HCBA members that come from PA. Everyone is welcome.
Hope to see you at the next meeting!
